Open Thread: What Should Frank Be Told About in 2014?
Time marches on, and so does the telling of Frank what happened in stuff. But what stuff should he be told about? You guys tell me!
I currently have plans to tackle RuPaul’s Drag Race in January; other currently pending suggestions include Ayn Rand’s works and Dragonball Z. But maybe you guys have ideas! Better ideas! So sound off here in the comments or one of our other social media things! And Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you too! I would love it if you told Frank about The Following. (<- Weird sentence, huh?) Anyway, The Following is such a snark-worthy show. It's a glorious mess. Nothing about it works. It's so bad that it's almost good again, but not quite. And it has Kevin Bacon. Need I say more?
Oh, yikes. I’d been avoiding this one, but I could probably get through the pilot in the name of science.
You’re a smart woman. I should probably have avoided it too. As it was I only got through about five episodes by convincing myself that it couldn’t possibly get worse, which it then promptly did. Maybe I have to rethink this one. I don’t want you to subject yourself to this crap. Also, the pilot isn’t very fun. There are some episodes that are just not dumb or ridiculous enough to balance out the hatefulness of watching a serial killer as an anti-hero/protagonist or whatever it is the writers are trying to pull. Joe Carroll is no Dexter, that’s for sure.
I’m gonna think of a more fun suggestion. Something like American Horror Story. That’s dumb and ridiculous and FUN. Plus, the acting is better.
Hey, there are 52 weeks in a year. No reason I can’t tackle all of this!
Love your blog! How about telling Frank about Witches of East End for snark worthy shows? Oscar nominees, Emmy winners, D listers from the 90s, and people from Joss Whedon shows are all in this show. Its campy and ridiculous and terrible but everyone is having alot of fun. Could be a palate cleanser after all the murder in the following.
I somehow totally missed this show, but it sounds AWESOME. Thank you for the recommendation, and for reading!
I recommend the Wool series of stories by Hugh Howey. I got the first book free on my Kindle, and I really want to know what happens in the series – just not enough to buy it!
I also have read the first book of Wool! (Because it was free.) Don’t know if I was hooked enough to continue, but it’s a good suggestion I’ll consider!
It’s kind of funny, actually, that I mentioned you taking up “Wool” before I ran across this post on your blog. I’ve recently begun blogging (somewhat inspired by you, actually!) after getting your free book on Kindle. My theme is blogging on the books that I’ve found on Kindle for free. My review of Wool is here: http://ebookbum.wordpress.com/2014/04/21/bully-for-wool-y/
Well, I’m honored by both your kind review and by being an inspiration! Thank you very much! Great concept for a blog, I’ll definitely start following it. 🙂
